# Your account

> Where to find your practice profile, your Rivet URL, your notification settings, and the controls for changing or closing your account.

Your account is one practitioner, one practice. Everything in this section
lives in the same place in the app — open the slide-in **account panel** by
tapping your avatar in the top-right of any screen.

The panel has the controls you reach for most often: your sign-in identity,
your Rivet phone number, your auto-reply state, browser notifications
(desktop), biometric unlock (phone), the Data Processing Agreement you
accepted, and the **Sign Out** button. Anything that isn't there is handled
by emailing **[hello@getrivet.ca](mailto:hello@getrivet.ca)** — a real human reads every message.

## How identity works in Rivet

Three layers, each separate so a change in one doesn't break the others:

* **Identity** — your email address. The magic-link sign-in confirms that
you control it. There is no password.
* **Trust for the session** — the magic link itself, plus (on phones)
Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint if you've turned **Biometric Unlock**
  on in the account panel.
* **Convenience** — your session stays signed in for 90 days of activity.
Open Rivet at least once a quarter and you'll never see a sign-in
  screen.

If you ever want to start fresh — say, you're handing the phone over to
your kid for an afternoon — tap **Sign Out** in the account panel. The
session clears, the biometric preference resets, and the next launch
starts from the sign-in screen.
